Bulgarian Duner Recipe

Recipe ingredients:

1 pack of flat bread
250gr (½ lb) Prepared French fries
5-6 Dill pickles
600gr (1 ½ lb) chicken breast
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon powdered cardamom
½ teaspoon powdered nutmeg
½ teaspoon sumac (Rhus coriaria L.)
1-2 teaspoons powdered garlic
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon oil
salt

For the sauce:
1-2 teaspoons Lemon juice
250gr. Plain yogurt
2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 clove of garlic

 

Recipe preparation:

Slice the chicken breast length-wise at about one centimeter thickness.
Mix together the cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, sumac, garlic, salt, oil and vinegar and put the chicken in the mixture. Marinade covered in a cool place for at least 30 minutes. Grill the chicken or bake in the oven at 400ºC (200ºF) turning occasionally until golden brown on all sides.
While the chicken is being cooked mix together the yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice and garlic to prepare the sauce. Set aside.
When the chicken is done, warm the flat bread. Take one of the flat breads and in the middle length-wise put a few pieces of the chicken, spoon over it some of the sauce, add fries and pickles and roll the flat bread folding it at one side to make the bottom.


Tip
: For even a more exotic taste, add onions and marinated jalapeños.
